As demonstrated by our students' success on the bar exam and in national competitions, the primary mission and greatest accomplishment of Campbell's faculty is that it is a teaching faculty. The faculty prides itself on teaching in the classroom and being available to the students after class. The Campbell faculty consists of noted experts and scholars in various areas of the law. Just a few of their accomplishments include:

  • Williston on Contracts - A 20+ volume treatise that is the premier national legal work on contracts. The professor who is revising this work employs 6-8 law students as research assistants to assist him.
  • Medical-Legal Treatises - A faculty member who holds both a law degree and medical degree has written over 5 books on medical-legal topics and serves as a national speaker on these topics.
  • Wills & Trusts - Faculty members have written and revised the primary treatise for North Carolina Law on Wills & Trusts.
  • Property Law - Two of our Professors co-author the most widely used legal book on North Carolina Property Law. They are also CLE speakers on the topic, and one testifies as an expert witness in cases involving complex property issues.
  • Trial Advocacy - Campbell's full-time law faculty has collectively tried over 100 jury trials. The faculty includes a Director for the Southeastern Regional Deposition Program sponsored by the National Institute for Trial Advocacy.
  • Tax Law - One professor is the author of the Tax section for the North Carolina Law Index.
  • Church-State Relations - One professor is the author of several books on the relationship between the Church and the State. He also serves as an advisor to new religious groups forming in Russia and the Russian government's recognition of religion. He makes frequent trips to Russia, sometimes taking law students with him.
  • Fulbright Scholar - A faculty member was a Fulbright Scholar in the Spring of 1998.
