JAMES B. McLAUGHLIN, JR., Professor of Law, received his B.S. degree from Georgia Southern College. He graduated cum laude from the Walter F. George School of Law at Mercer University, where he served as the Fifth Circuit survey editor of the Mercer Law Review. He practiced law for eight years in Macon, Georgia, prior to joining the law faculty at Pepperdine University School of Law in 1981. He is a member of the Phi Delta Phi Legal Fraternity and was George Inn's Graduate of the Year in 1973. He is presently chair of the Trusts Drafting Committee of the General Statutes Commission of North Carolina, and is the revising co-author of Webster's Real Estate Law in North Carolina, 4th Edition. Professor McLaughlin has previously served as Associate Dean and Acting Dean of Campbell's School of Law, and he teaches Wills, Trusts and Estates, Property I and II, Estate Administration, and Conflict of Laws.
