About Calloway: Calloway is the leader of the Government Investigations and Compliance Group at Alston & Bird, and concentrates his practice in the areas of white-collar criminal defense, internal corporate investigations, and compliance program development, implementation, and auditing. Prior to joining Alston & Bird, Calloway served for seven years as the United States Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina. During his tenure with the Department of Justice, he served as Director of the Executive Office for United States Attorneys in Washington, D.C., as a chair of the Attorney General’s Advisory Committee of United States Attorneys, and was a member of the Attorney General’s White Collar Crime Council. Since 1993, Calloway has held an AV Rating with Martindale Hubbell, has been listed in The Best Lawyers in America since 2005 and has been recognized by Super Lawyers magazine on multiple occasions. A past chair of the Criminal Justice Section Council of the North Carolina Bar Association, Calloway has also served as an advisor to the Ethics Committee of the North Carolina State Bar.
